Ithaca Peace Week - Build Peace and Community
Mark your calendars for September 12–21, 2026, so you don’t miss our Peace Week events. This year is the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi, so we will pray to him for peace and will end the month with a "Blessing of the Animals" on Oct 4, 2026. We will have a coffee hour on September 12 and 13 to publicize all the events. We have a Peace Plant for a door prize valued at over $900 to be awarded on September 21. All attendees will get a raffle ticket. We will have a movie night, a speaker discussing Pope Francis and Pope Leo’s peace messages, as well as a Taíze prayer service. There will also be events at Ithaca College and Cornell. Come and be part of the discussions on how to make our hearts and our world more peaceful!
